Photoshop Blending Steps

Start a new document in Adobe Photoshop:
  • File>New>Set the resolution to "300 dpi" you can set the size and title if you wish.
  • Save it right away.
  • File>Save As- "YourName.psd" (psd means Photoshop Document). save it to your personal network space.
Open and Copy your first file
  • File>Open>find the file in your folder  (check the file size- Image>Adjustments> Image Size).
  • Select part of the photo with a Select Tool (Marquee, Lassoo, use a quick Mask to get in close)
  • Edit>Copy then click on file to where you want it to go ie your new Photoshop document.
  • Edit>Paste.
  • This will make a new Layer on your layer palette make sure the correct layer is selected when you are working.
To Move and Adjust the Size of your pasted image
  • Use the Move tool (top arrow on your tool bar) to place your image and click the "Show Transform Controls" on the options menu at the top of your page.
  • To scale your image, hold the Shift key and click on a corner of the image
  • Press Enter when you are finished. 
Then open the second file and repeat
Use the eraser tool to take out parts that you don't need.
Try to colour and adjust contrast to blend the two images together as best as you can.
Final Flatten and Save
When you are finished everything, Layer> Flatten Image
File>Save> YourName.jpg (make sure the format is jpg).
